What happens after you press the button.
Delivery, warranty, returns and the standards we hold ourselves to, in plain English, before you commit to anything.
The unglamorous part, done properly.
Most of what separates a good retailer from a bad one happens after the sale. These are written down so you can hold us to them.
- Free mainland UK delivery, planned properly. We agree access before dispatch: gate widths, ground levels, turning space, and whether a crane is needed. This equipment weighs between three hundred kilos and a tonne, and the commonest way it goes wrong is a delivery that cannot reach the spot. Lead times are stated honestly too: if a manufacturer says eight weeks and we think it will be twelve, we will say twelve.
- One email to us, and we handle the manufacturer. Every product carries its maker's full warranty and the exact term sits on the product page rather than buried here. You never chase a factory or translate a claim. We will also tell you plainly what a warranty does not cover, because most disputes in this category come from expectations rather than faults.
- Returns in line with UK consumer law. Fourteen days to change your mind from delivery, and fourteen more to return, in full. For equipment this size we ask one practical thing: talk to us before you dismantle anything, so a collection is arranged properly rather than left half undone in your garden.
- Payment handled by certified checkout. Card details are encrypted end to end and never touch a Tarnfell system. We do not offer or promote consumer finance, deliberately: it is a regulated activity and we would rather stay out of it than be in it badly. Prices are in sterling, and delivery is shown before checkout rather than added at the last step.
- A real company you can verify. Tarnfell is a registered limited company in England and Wales, trading from Lincolnshire, with its registered details in the footer of every page and independently checkable at Companies House. We buy from manufacturers and sell to you directly, taking no commission, no referral fees and no payment for placement.
A small team, and real response times.
Email is monitored Monday to Friday, nine to five. If something needs a manufacturer's answer we will say so rather than leave you waiting in silence.
What we aim for on any enquiry reaching us before mid-afternoon.
What we commit to every time, even if the answer is that we are still finding out.
No tier one script, and nobody reading the specification back to you off the product page.
The questions people ask us most.
Where a manufacturer has a UK showroom we will tell you where it is, even if that means you buy nothing today.
02 What if it does not fit?We check access before dispatch, not after. Dimensions and weights sit on every product page.
03 Who fixes it in year three? We do. One email, and we handle the manufacturer for the life of the warranty.
04 How do I check you are real?Registered in England and Wales. Company details in the footer, verifiable at Companies House.
