A two seat outdoor sauna on a footprint of 1.5 by 1.3 metres and 2 metres tall, so it stands on a terrace or in a small garden and usually needs no planning application. Canadian spruce, a glass front, a 4.5kW Harvia heater in the price, and nothing to configure.
Delivery & installation
Delivery is included in the price, kerbside to mainland Britain. Offshore, island and remote postcodes are quoted before you order. Nothing is added at the checkout and nothing is invoiced afterwards that you were not shown first.
Delivery to a mainland UK address is in the price. The cabin arrives as a flat pack kit on one pallet, about 1.9m by 1.3m and around 345kg on a reseller's figure, set down at the kerb or the nearest firm, level spot the driver's pallet truck can reach; a pallet truck does not cross gravel, grass or a step. From there the parts move by hand, and two people carry everything. We confirm the delivery arrangement for your address in writing when we process your order.
Offshore addresses, the Scottish Highlands and islands, and any address a lorry cannot reach are quoted separately before you order.
Installation is not in the price. It can be arranged for your site where you would rather not build it yourself, and the cost is confirmed before anything is delivered.
Warranty
Four years on the wood structure and two years on the electronics, which are the terms France Sauna publish for the Gaïa collection in its January 2026 specification sheet.
The UK distributor administers the warranty and raises claims with the maker where needed. The cabin is sold for home use: the distributor does not supply it for commercial use, and commercial or very frequent use can affect cover.
Claims come to us. One email, and we deal with the distributor and the maker on your behalf rather than handing you a phone number.
Returns
Until the order is placed with the supplier you can cancel and be refunded in full, with no reason needed. Your statutory cancellation rights are set out in full in our returns policy.
Check the pallet on the day it arrives, count the parts against the list in the manual, and tell us about anything damaged or missing within 48 hours with photographs. Anything that arrives damaged or faulty is ours to put right. Do not book an electrician or an installer for a fixed date until the delivery has arrived and been checked.
About this product
The Gaïa Urban is a two seat outdoor sauna 1,500mm wide, 1,300mm deep and 2,000mm tall, in Canadian spruce, with a full height glass door in the front and a raised bench with a footrest inside. The curved roof and both sides carry a dark grey weather cladding, and the spruce front and back are supplied bare. A strip of seven colour LED light runs inside, with a remote.
It is a traditional sauna rather than an infrared one. A Harvia Vega BC45 heater is in the price, controlled by the timer and thermostat on the heater, and water on the stones gives the burst of steam a Finnish sauna is known for. Harvia rate the BC45 for sauna rooms of 3 to 6 cubic metres. This cabin is about 3.9 cubic metres, so it sits in the middle of that band. The next size up, the 6.0kW BC60, is rated from 5 cubic metres, which is more room than this cabin has. So 4.5kW is the size Harvia’s own figures call for here. Harvia specify a 20A fuse and 3 x 2.5mm² supply cable at 230V single phase: a dedicated circuit, fitted and certified by an electrician, in armoured cable outdoors.
The distributor recommends this cabin for April to October use, and we have left that in plain sight rather than dropping it. It is a fair description of a 3.9 cubic metre spruce cabin with a glazed front, and no heater choice changes it, because there is no larger Harvia rated for a room this size. If you want a cabin you will still be using in January, the Gaïa Bella is 3.2 square metres with a 6kW heater and is the honest next step.
At 2 metres tall it sits under the 2.5 metre height that permitted development allows within 2 metres of a boundary, so on most plots it needs no planning application. It arrives as a flat pack kit on one pallet, to the kerb, and stands on a flat, hard base you lay first. Everything else about it is fixed, so there is nothing to configure.

Who this is actually for.
Every product here is described with the honest opposite beside it: who it suits, and who should be looking at something else. If none of the descriptions below fits you, the right answer is elsewhere in the range, or elsewhere entirely, and we would rather say so.
The footprint is 1.5 by 1.3 metres and the height is 2 metres, which is the whole point: it stands on a terrace or beside a back door where a barrel would not go, and under 2.5 metres it usually needs no planning application even within 2 metres of a boundary. Two people sit on the raised bench with their feet on the footrest. The 4.5kW Harvia heater, the glass door and the seven colour lighting are all in the £4,240.
Worth confirmingyou want four people in it, or to lie down. Two sit and nobody stretches out. If a family sauna is the point, a larger cabin is the answer and we will say so rather than sell you this.
It arrives flat packed on one pallet and goes together with two people, a drill and the maker's instructions, on a flat, hard, level base that you lay first. The heater needs a dedicated 20 amp circuit in 2.5mm² cable, which is an electrician's job and not a plug, and outdoors that means an armoured run from the house.
Worth confirmingyou want it delivered built, or you want an app. The Vega is controlled by a timer and a thermostat on the heater itself, so it will not warm up while you drive home, and a cabin delivered assembled is a different product.
The product that gets used is the one worth recommending, and it is not always the largest one.
The measurements that decide it.
Read this before anything else. Things this size are almost never sent back because they were the wrong product. They are sent back because the pallet could not be set down, the parts would not reach the spot, or the ground under them was never going to hold them.
The pallet is the one to respect. It weighs about a third of a tonne and it moves on a pallet truck, which needs a hard, level surface from the lorry to wherever it stops. Gravel, grass, a kerb without a dropped edge or a single step all stop it. If the pallet has to stop at the road, the parts are carried from there by hand, and the glass door is the one to plan the route for.

Order and site check
Base, access and your electrical supply are agreed before the order is placed with the distributor. You arrange the base and the circuit. There is nothing to configure on the cabin itself.

A flat, hard, level base at least 1.5 by 1.3 metres, and an electrician runs a 20A single phase circuit to it in armoured cable and leaves it ready to terminate. Outdoor circuits are notifiable work in England, so this is not a job for a competent friend.

The cabin arrives as a flat pack kit on one pallet, about 345kg, at the kerb or the nearest firm, level spot the pallet truck can reach. Count the parts against the list that day and photograph anything damaged. Two people carry the parts to the base.
- Build
Skids, shell, front, bench
The timber skids go down on the base, then the shell sections, the glass front and the back, the bench and the footrest, working from the maker's instructions. Two people and a drill. If you would rather hand it over, installation can be arranged for your address once you have ordered.
- Before first use
The electrician returns
The heater is hung, connected and the circuit tested and certified. You should be handed a certificate. Then the stones go in, loosely, and the first heat cycle burns off the factory smell with the door open.
What owning one actually involves.
The handful of things that decide whether this is still in use in year three.
A flat, load bearing slab or paved base at least 1.5 by 1.3 metres, laid before the pallet arrives. The cabin stands on two timber skids, so it is those that bear on the base, and a rubber mat under them takes the edge off a stone terrace. The base is not included.
4.5kW at 230V is about 20 amps on a circuit of its own, in 2.5mm² cable, installed and certified by an electrician before first use, or 3 × 10A on three phase. Outdoors that is an armoured run from the house. The timer and thermostat are on the heater; there is no app.
Harvia rate the Vega BC45 for sauna rooms of 3 to 6 cubic metres. This cabin is about 3.9, so it sits in the middle of that band. The next unit up, the 6.0kW BC60, is rated from 5 cubic metres, which is more room than this cabin has. Harvia's own rule for adding volume where a wall is cold glass excludes the door, and the door is where this cabin's glazing is, so the figure stays at 3.9. 4.5kW is therefore the size the maker's published data points at, and anything larger would be running outside its own rating.
The cabin ships unstained; the maker's photographs show a light oak stain that is not applied at the factory. The spruce front and back silver over time unless you oil or stain them, and spruce carries pitch pockets that heat can soften. Acetone on a rag takes leaking resin off, or let it harden and scrape it.
A single skin cabin is not heated continuously, so the timber can pick up damp marks over a wet winter and moves slightly with the seasons. Heating the cabin after wet weather and airing it after every session is most of the answer. The dark cladding over the roof and sides is the weather layer; the spruce faces are the ones to look after.

Heat up: 4.5kW for 45 minutes is 3.4 kWh, for a cabin of about 3.9 cubic metres outside with no insulation in the wall. Holding: 1 hour at roughly 50% duty is 2.25 kWh. Total 5.6 kWh at 26.11p is about £1.46.

104 sessions at £1.46. The same sums on the 4.5kW Zen 3C indoors come to about £130, because a heated house loses less than a garden does, and an 8kW outdoor barrel is nearer £380.
a few pounds, every few years
Sauna stones crack and crumble with use and are restacked yearly and replaced when they do. Harvia's 4.5kW Vega takes 20kg. They are the only consumable part.
Assumptions: electricity at the Ofgem price cap unit rate of 26.11p per kWh, 1 July to 30 September 2026, including VAT. Figures are calculated from the heater's rated output of 4.5kW, not measured on an installed cabin. Heat up is taken as 45 minutes, our working figure for a single skin outdoor cabin of about 3.9 cubic metres, and it says so here rather than being presented as theirs. On a cold, windy night the real figure sits above these numbers rather than below them.

Reasons to buy something else.
Delivery is by lorry to the kerb, and the pallet is about 1.9 metres long and 345kg. A shared private road, steps to the kerb, a gravel drive or a double parked frontage all need solving before you order, not on the day. From wherever the pallet stops, every part moves by hand.
The bench seats two and the cabin is 1.3 metres deep. Two people sit; nobody stretches out. If seating a family or lying down is the point, a larger cabin is the answer and we will point you at one rather than sell you this.
The heater will not run from a socket or an extension lead. If an armoured 20 amp circuit cannot reach where the cabin would stand, an infrared cabin indoors on a lighter supply is the honest alternative, and the Apollon and Canopée ranges are built for exactly that.
A single skin timber shell with air on both sides loses heat far faster than an insulated wall. This cabin heats quickly and cools quickly, and in January the 4.5kW heater is working hard to hold 80 degrees. The distributor recommends this cabin for April to October use, and we would rather print that than bury it. A larger heater is not the fix, because Harvia rate nothing above 4.5kW for a room this size. If year round evening use at the lowest running cost is the aim, an insulated cabin costs more for exactly that reason, and the Gaia Bella is the next step up this range.
